Bruce Levine Late In Filing Financial Disclosure Reports

By: Daniel Friedman

Bruce Levine, the Preserve Ramapo candidate for Town Supervisor in Ramapo, is still late in filing his legally required financial disclosure reports. The 32-Day Pre-Primary Report was required to be submitted by August 14th, but Levine is 4 days late- and counting. In his previous filing, Levine showed a balance of about $11,000. His opponent, incumbent Supervisor Christopher P. St. Lawrence, filed his financial disclosure report before the due date, and has a balance of over $170,000.00 in his campaign account. Campaign account balances demonstrate the level of support a candidate has, and St. Lawrence has over 15 times as much money as Levine does.

In the last filing, Levine recorded a $6,000 check, the largest contribution given to any candidate by far. The check, which accounts for over half his last known balance, came from Robert Rhodes, the Chairman of the Preserve Ramapo organization. It is still unknown at this point if the contribution violated any campaign finance laws due to its size.
